Richardson Child Care and Education Centre

The Good Shepherd Community Church supports our local community.  The Church is located at Cnr Hambidge Cres & Proctor St, Chisholm ACT 2905

Established and developed in Canberra, Communities@Work is a local organisation that understands local needs.  It has a rich heritage delivering quality community services of social value and practical benefit for nearly 40 years.  The organisation follows a client-centred approach and offers services in the following five areas: Children’s Services, Social Programs, Lifestyle Services and Special Program Areas.  It relies on strong community support to deliver cost effective services.  For more information, visit www.commsatwork.org

Richardson Child Care and Education Centre is a 57 place service licensed for Birth to school age. Richardson Child Care and Education centre  is a mixed model service providing  LDC, PPT , OCC, , sessional preschool pick up and drop off at Richardson and Koorie preschools.  Richardson Child Care and Education Centre is a Community Hub member, the service welcomes community organisations to utilise the centre facilities.

“Tuggeranong Link operates a management relationship with the five community houses/centres in the Tuggeranong Valley, including the Chisholm Community Centre, Gilmore Community House, Isabella Plains Neighbourhood House, Conder Community House, and Richardson Community House.”  “Tuggeranong Link and the community centres/houses are directly managed by the Tuggeranong Link management committee, consisting of volunteers and paid staff, drawn from membership groups of the Tuggeranong Link, and the local community. Individuals and community play an active part in the development and management of their own neighbourhood centres and associated activities.”

Richardson Community Psychology is a co-operative of mental health professionals offering bulk-billed or low cost counselling services.  ACT CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management) is also managed from the office.
Richardson Community Psychology is located at the rear of Richardson Community House (Tuggeranong Link), 33 Prichard Cct, Richardson ACT 2905.

St Mary in the Valley Anglican Church supports our local community.  The Church is located on the Corner of Were St and Webber Crescent Calwell.

The Child and Family Centres offer a range of programs, including Drop-in parenting information and support, Parenting programs, Children's behaviour support clinic, Family case-coordination and home visiting, a range of targeted and universal playgroups at the centre and in the community, Services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and a range of external agencies operate from the centre offering a range of health services, counselling and other assistance.

Tuggeranong South Guides meet at Richardson Scout Hall during school terms. The girls are in three age-based groups (5+, 7+, 10+ ) and the female Leaders are trained and dedicated to mentoring the girls through fun and activity. Guides enjoy lots of activities such as making new friends, playing games, singing songs, cooking, badge work, community service and camps.  Guides have FUN.  Girls are welcome to come along for a couple of weeks free of charge to try it out. We would love to meet you.

YWCA Canberra computer clubhouse
The YWCA Canberra Computer Clubhouse is located at Richardson Primary School in Tuggeranong, and is a space where young people can drop by to engage with mentors, embark on new projects, and learn in a safe, friendly and open environment.  Members can drive their own projects according to their interests and ideas, and the Clubhouse Coordinator provides support and assistance. Clubhouse mentors also engage with members by sharing their experience and knowledge.  The Clubhouse is open to anyone aged 10 – 18 years of age, living in the Tuggeranong region.
